"I love working with people considering moving to the area and like to hear their stories..."

My late husband, Patrick, and I vacationed with our children on the Carolina coast for years before buying a home in St. James in 2015. We chose St. James because of its beauty and amenities, the area’s temperate climate and, of course, proximity to the ocean.  Also, there is a lot of ‘St. James pride’… people take care of their property.  Also, you don’t necessarily have to build as there are always beautiful homes on the market.

I have always had an interest in real estate, consistently keeping an eye on the markets where Patrick and I have lived.  Once we settled in St. James, I sought out an agency to fulfill a long time goal of becoming a real estate agent.

I chose to launch my career with RE/MAX Southern Coast.  RE/MAX is a highly respected international brand and RE/MAX Southern Coast is a high volume, busy office.  There is always someone to turn to when a question arises and it provides great support for its agents.

With a background that includes working in public relations, in education as both a teacher and a principal and in the insurance industry, I bring a valuable skillset to my new profession.  I love working with people considering moving to the area and like to hear their stories. I want to know about their experiences, where they’ve come from, and what they hope to find here so that I can help them find the best property to fit their needs and lifestyle.  By nature I’m a snoop!  I’m thrilled to have an excuse to check out a property for my clients if they want some input before they can see it for themselves.

Selling the area is one of my favorite parts of the job.  Southport itself has a colorful history and there is always something going on such as festivals, the Christmas open house tour, open air markets, and the Fourth of July Celebration. There’s no time to be bored here. If you are, take a walk down to the waterfront and park yourself on a swing, then wait for a freighter to come through or a humpback whale to make its appearance.   Plus, we’re not far from Wilmington, a historical city with a vibrant, arts oriented community, lots of restaurants, and a variety of shops.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in public relations journalism from the University of Kansas, as well as a M.Ed. in social foundations from the University of Virginia, and a M.Ed. in administration and supervision from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.  For fun, I write romantic fiction, walk the beaches and spends time in the gym.  I have three children and six grandchildren.

Let me assist you on your journey of buying or selling real estate in the Southport / Oak Island area. I promise you it will be an enjoyable experience.

Sincerely,
